My craftman garage opener will not close. The up arrow blinks 3 times and the down arrow blinks 2 times. the button on the unit will not open or close it. It will move about a foot then reverse back

Try holding in the wall button the whole time. if the door closes, then you have an issue with the sensor wiring. if the wall button closes the door while holding in, then post a comment below and we will tell you next steps.
