My dad has an 88 century with the 3.8 he is having problems with the car stalling. Seems like it will drive about 5 to 10 miles then stalls out it then has a rough time starting it will then run for a little bit and stall out again also when starting it seems to backfire through the exhaust. We have changed the fuel pump coil packs ICM crankshaft and camshaft sensors plugs and wires. Kind of at a loss here but was thinking maybe ECM? Anybody have any input? Thank you in advance
What fuel injection system does it have ? throttle body or multi-port injection . Does it have a mass air flow sensor or map sensor ? You would save yourself a lot of time an money if you learned how to diagnose instead of being a parts changer
