Remove the case screws on the left and right side panels. Pay attention to the long screws that come out of the middle of the panels to make sure they get back in the right spot. Remove one screw from the top rear back panel. Lift side panels of in a hinged motion from the bottom. Remove the top panel in a hinged motion from the rear. In the center of the disc tray remove 1 screw from center. Note the orientation of the tray for re-insertion. Lift the tray up and out. look for small dc motor and spindle. this motor is used to spin the tray. You should find a black belt between motor and spindle. Make sure it is in good condition. Look to the right rear of the unit. there is a second motor and belt which drives the tray. This belt may be broken or off its spindle. repair or replace the belt as necessary. Plug the unit in and test the open/close function and ensure the gear train, belts and carriage move smoothly. reassemble.
You can also take off the mother board in the front and check all the connections for a lose one or fried one brake it then reconnect it if it has eny other problems just fiddle with it REMEMBER WHER THE SRUSE WENT
