My dvd video player often won't read good discs as being good ans says they are "bad" or no disc when I know the one inside is ok. If I try multiple times it may work. Why and thanks for your help. Barbara
Your DVD player is about to break completely. The disk is spinning too slow at times. I currently have a similar problem and have not yet determined if the motor is bad or the chip that drives the motor or the main processor chip. There is a slight possiblity that a poor power supply is at fault. Because of the high cost of repair it's probably not worth repair. Oh yes, one other possibility is the lens that reads the DVD may be dirty. You can try to clean it and see if it helps, Use a cotton swab with alcohol (not the kind you drink) and gently wipe the plastic lens the dry it with the dry end of the swab. Look closely to make sure you don't leave any cotton behind. You only need a little alcohol. Don't over due it. Good luck, nssms
