My dvr worked fine for several months and then all of sudden it stopped recording Could it be that the hard drive just stopped recording because of failure?
Hi there, the HDD is a common component to fail in a DVR. The DVR Itself should actually tell you the status of the storage device if you navigate the menu.
I could probably assist you remotely to find out if you like?

When you navigate the menu system on your dvr monitor, does it tell you the status of the storage hdd? Also the ethernet connection from your dvr connects to your router bye the way. That's if ever you wanted to view your cameras remotely when away from home. When you navigate the menu system on your dvr monitor, does it tell you the status of the storage hdd?
