My exhaust is popping after a short ride and when its cold and if i rev it too much it cuts out, when im setting off rather than the power been there straight away its a bit jerky like the power is delayed, also when i put it in first gear with the clutch in it still seems to travel, what do you think might be wrong with it and roughly how much will it cost
Not too much info on what you have. If you have a power commander, I would check the maps. As for the other options. The fuel injector could be stuck open causing one cylinder to flood. Another problem could be spark plugs. Here is how I would start. Check the spark plugs to ensure each one of them are getting spark. They they are getting spark then move on to the next step. If this does not get spark you need to check the wires to ensure no breaks. Ohm these out for resistance. If they work then check the ignition coil / coil pack which ever you have. Make sure its producing power. If it isn't then thats the problem. If its not producing power then take the ECM to a dealer and have it checked. The cost of this repair shouldn't be more than about $150 plus a testing fee on the ECM.
