Report "My father has a Dynex LCD TV, Model DX-37L130A11 Rev A, sticker says 10H07-Rev A. Manufactured August 2010, Lot #: 205204 XHT 100453. A few days ago he said the audio started emitting a loud, cracking sound, then no sound at all. I confirmed this last night. At first I got no volume no matter what volume level or combination I tried: just complete silence. The TV is attached via coax to a satellite dish provider, so I tried switching to his DVD player, but same thing: silence. I disconnected the coax and left the DVD running, and as I monkeyed around with the volume settings on the remote, I started getting a very loud crackling sound as if there is a loose wire. I tried muting, turning down the volume, selecting every volume combination, and nothing worked: continued to get a loud, crackling sound. Then inexplicably, the sound changed to normal and started working fine. I reattached the coax, switched from the DVD back to TV mode, and the audio was fine...for about 5 minutes, then the crackling, cracking, distortion returned for a minute, then silence again. I suspect there's a short in the audio circuitry. Does that sound reasonable? Is there something else I can try either to fix the audio or confirm the source of the problem?
