My francisfrancis 24fa expresso maker short circuited and sparks came out. how do I open it up to dry it out and how hard is it to get replacement parts?

Unplug the machine!
First remove the steam knob. hole below the steam knob. Straight blade screw driver. loosen the screw about 2 turns and the steam knob will unscrew.
next remove the 2 screws on the front.
Next remove the 4 screws on the under sides of the machine.
The top will slide back and off.
