My friends computer has firefox on it and he has lots of bookmarks His problem is that his computer keeps crashng so he wants to do a full restore but is there any way he can save all of these bookmarks he has so he wont lose them
Go to the menu Bookmarks - Bookmark Management and use the Export and Backup option to export the bookmarks. Save the exported file on a flash stick or something.
You can also do it manually if something goes wrong. In Windows computers the Firefox bookmark file is located in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[SomeProfileName]\bookmarks.html
1) You have to enable viewing hidden files and folders to reach this file 2) [username] is the Windows user whose bookmarks you want to retrieve, and [SomeProfileName] is a profile name that Firefox creates, usually there's only one.
You can copy that file to a flash stick or something and restore once the system and Firefox have been reinstalled.
