My garmins batterys are charged but will not turn on unless i plug it in to my car charger or my home charger cable. once pluged into the charger it will not turn off using the off button.it will however turn off if i unplug the cable from the aux car jack. any suggestions? i tryed a reset with no results

Sounds like bad batteries to me. You could look to ebay or the like to find a replacement. How old is it? Other thought is that you can open it up and run a meter across the battery connections to see if there is power in the battery and look to see if there is corrosion on the terminals. Only do that if the device is out of warranty. If it is in warranty, contact Garmin or the local store.
