I have not tried to short circuit the cmos battery....if this power on password is stored in the cmos, and not some separate chip, I would try resetting the password with that method. I don't want to attempt it unless I know for sure it is possible. If anyone has any experience removing the power on password from a GoBook VR-2 or any knowledge about where the power on password is saved on this laptop, please enlighten me.
