MY harmonic damper is not aligned with the other pulley. It is sitting away from the engine too far. This cause the belt to slip off. How can I push this back toward the engine?

You need a damper removal/installer tool, that will press it on further onto the shaft. Some auto part stores rent tools like that, mostly autozone, and advanced auto.
