My Hoover vhd 8142 washer wont turn. Some clothes got stuck in the doorway and when it spun it twisted everything up and pulled the seal off the door. We managed to get the seal back on. We put a load in it fills with water and then you hear the sound of the drum turning but nothing happens. I can manually turn the drum but nothing happens when it is on

I could be that the drive belt has com off the drum . If the drum turns and you can't feel any resistance then check the belt isn't off.
Sounds Like the friction on the belt.If the drum got stuck the motor & belt keep turning plus the drum may of been pulled to an off set angle distorting the alinement's of the belt to the wheel that turns the drum.
