My husband and I painted our garage last night with the Epoxy Shield. We used the 2.5 garage floor kit. Our problem was we did one can at a time instead of mixing all together. The cans were off in the colors. We are going to leave the light half alone and redo the darker half. We are going to take it back to the expansion joint so it won't be visible. It has been 14 hrs. since we applied the product. Do we need to wait longer to do a coating on top of part that we are redoing?

WOW! I hope other people read this answer about using any type of Epoxy coating-
First off as a contractor the only way I would touch this job would be to remove the coating you have tried to apply-
Here is the problem Epoxy paint is a 2 part system meaning there is a catalyst (part A) that you mix with the resin(part B) they must be mixed together to work Epoxy is a High Performance coating that only dries by a chemical reaction-
House paint for example being either Oil-base or Latex dries by evaporation-

*Note once you mix the 2parts together they need to mixed and allowed to sit for say 20 minutes or so this is called induction time and is super important to do-
Also you only have a few hours or so to work with Epoxy coatings this is called pot-life or the time the Epoxy will stay workable-
All your tools and buckets rollers brushes will have to be thrown away because there is noway to reverse the process-

You're probably already done with your project by now, but you should wait at least 24 hours, lightly sand, and wipe surface with acetone and a microfiber towel before applying a second coat.
