Sometimes, when you run an engine completely out of gas, to the point where it dies. There is sediment and debris that settles to the bottom of a gas tank, when you run it too low. Or in this case out of gas that debris will clog the fuel filter. The first thing to do though is continue trying to start it ( to get fuel back into the fuel rail and system ), If it does not crank over and start within 5 minutes ( NOT continuous cranking ) or so of trying then that's your problem. Replace the fuel filter and fire er' up.. Hope it helps.
There is no reset button per say.. Replace the filter since you've determined there is no fuel getting through at all. Since there is a dummy light, also disconnect the battery after you replace the filter and that will reset it. If it was running fine before it ran out of gas, the fuel pump is more than likely not the problem but it's possible. Replace the filter first. Hope it helps. There is no reset button per say.. Sounds like eithor **** in the fuel filter or the fuel pump took a **** fo find out if there is fuel check the fuel rail under the hood for fuel hit the bleed off valve in the fuel rail if it spirts then you have fuel and other problems
to get fuel to the rail after you change the filter like mikey says
disconect batery then just cycly the key dont even turn it over
cycle to run position 3 times but listen the the pump wait untill it stops between each cycle this will allow you to fuel the motor without burning the starter
afwer you get fuel to bleed from rail cycle 1 more time then start your engine and you should be off to the gas station
