I've read through many answers here so are partly right but none accurate. Firstly the make of fryer that's leaking is very important here. Imperial fryer have awful tanks they all leak at the front after as little as 2 years. Pitco have great tanks and come with a 10 year warranty. Frymaster leak at the back but can be welded unlike any fryer although I still would not recommend. Pilots going out yes it can be the thermocouple , but it can also be the overheat thermostat once again certain brands have different problems. I'm 40 years in this buisness and I'm happy to give anyone good advice and information. John .
No, there is no drip pan. If the oil is leaking from the drain spout, you can screw a plug in it. If it is leaking from the tank around the burner tubes.... then you need a new fryer.
