Since everything else is working, that's good the good news, and the problem is only concerning the brush roller drive system. The bad news is that the motor drive could be bad, the good news is that it just could be a broken or slipped belt. To find this, you're going to have to disassemble it a bit to see what's going on. I've never done this, so can't explain the process. A local vacuum repair shop might be able to check it quickly for you, and quote an estimate on repair and parts, which might be worth checking out.
Check for a broken or disconnected belt, that's the main culprit with these cases.
