My Jinlun Scooter Model # JL50QT-6A will not stay running. We are able to get the scooter running with starting fluid but when the starting fluid runs out it shuts off. It's getting plenty of vacuum from the air intake going to the carburetor. Not sure if the carburetor is gooped up on the inside or if the setting of the choke is not working. The instructions are very vague on how to get it off of high idle to medium Idol and then to normal Idol. The instructions read 1 turn carburetor controller leftward to the end, 2 hold rear brake on, 3 press down start button, 4 after engine starts turn carburetor controller to middle position. 5 then when engine is warm reset carburetor to primary position. The instruction do not clearly state were the middle position and the primary position are. I'm assuming this is done with the right handle but when I turn this handle it does nothing down at the carburetor. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Wade
Hi Wade, Check the needle and seat in your carby, You need to pull your carby off and unscrew the bottom half from the top, 1st sign of a needle stuck inside the seat is a dry carby There you'll find the float, push the float up and down and see if the needle above the float slides up and down from the seat, If the needle stays up then it's stuck and NOT letting the fuel into the carby, Just pull it down with your fingers to loosen it up... I hope this helps....
