My Jura Capresso E 8 is stuck in open tap filling system. I open tap it says filling system, it says close tap, when I close the tap it goes back into open tap. Float valve looks fine, water is moving
Checked tank water flowes from it just fine, float is moving fine, screen on E-8 inlet looks clear, water is flowing through the system very well. Have E-8 unplugged for 15 min to see if it will reset and it did not.

If it is the flow sensor that is not working one solution as mentioned above is to take the device apart and clean the flow sensor. However it is also possible to clean the flow sensor without taking the unit apart. (if you are a bit lucky):
Fill the water tank with HOT water with descaler (about 0,7 liter)
switch the unit on. the display will say: open tap, close tap, open tap close tap, etc. Do open and close it, as the hot water with descaler will pass through the system. Since the unit does not heat when the open tap close tap loop is entered you need the hot water to effectively dissolve the chalc. Collect the water with descaler from under the tap, and re-heat it in the microwave and put back into the water tank. Do this many times, as the hot water with descaler will slowly heat up the piping and flow sensor, and dissolve dust such as chalc. It took me 25 minutes of continuously opening and closing the tap and reheating of the descaler-water in the microwave. Then suddenly the flow sensor was clean enough and started to register waterflow again. The unit entered into Spooling (and heating) mode and was 'Ready'. Clean the unit and flush it a long time with fresh water. Now it is OK again.
The Open Tap/ Close tap loop is entered because the machine doesn't see any or not enough water flow when the pump is on. If you see that water is flowing out of the tap when open, then the flow sensor most likely is stuck. It's a round white plastic assembly with two water hoses an an electrical connection. It sits under the water tank and can be taken apart to clean it.. Make sure that the paddle wheel spins freely when blowing into the inlet after cleaning.See elsewhere on how to take the machine apart.
Open the tap with frother spout off. This happened to mine and I took the frother tip off and opened tap with tip off. Water filled and I closed tap...Machine returned "Ready". I heated water in microwave for three minutes- placed frother tip in hot water and all kinds of gunk came out. Lesson learned- Do a thorough cleaning of frother by immersing it in very hot water at least once monthly- even if you don't use it
