I see there are others with different models experiencing the same problem but there are no answers as to why or what to do to get the device up and running again

If it shows connected andcharging on the screen plug it back into the device you removed it from. It will work again. Nothing else you plug into will fix it
Have you tried to turn it off and turn it back on
