My Kohler bathtub hot water faucet 77809-AA needs to be repaired and I can't get it off. I took the cap off and took the screw out, but it won't budge from there

My husband is a plumber. He says u need to pull it off with pliers. U need to just pull it off. It may take a couple tries, but it should come out.
