My kwikset keyless lock no longer beeps when I press the keys on the key pad, I've taken out the batter pak and re-enstalled them after about 5 min but still no more beeps

I don't see a step 11 or 13 in that link. I'm also not even able to get it beeping when I disconnect the batteries and put them back in.

It is important to pay attention to the details starting in Step 7, battery replacement for the lock to operate properly.
In Step 11 you will notice that it is possible to turn off the beep function with ip switch #3. You may have this function disabled.
