The continuously auto locking was happening for me because the extended deadbolt lock was hitting the back of the drilled frame. So when it locked it did not fully extend and it thought it was not locked and would try again every 30secs.
The fix was to be sure your hole is deep enough for the locked dead bolt to sit into without hitting anything.
