My laptop (doesn’t matter what brand, we’ve had the same issue on all of them) disconnects from the internet and when I go into internet settings the ‘use a proxy server ‘ box has a check in it. I uncheck it and am almost always going in to uncheck it again and again. I’ve tried the few things I’ve found online while searching for what to do, but nothing seems to be working. I’m using windows 10, but had the same thing on other versions as well, in the past. Does anyone have an answer that REALLY does work?
My suggestion would be trying to clear the dns cache. This can be a problem and is simply done with the following in command window. Make sure you start up the command window as administrator before proceeding:

- Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
- Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
