My LCD TV will not turn back on, there is power running to the TV because the red standby light is on, but when I either manually try to turn it on or use the remote it switches quickly to the green on light and then right back to standby before anything can even happen on the screen. I have heard a lot of LCD TV's have power supply problems but I don't feel this is the issue as there is power running to the unit. my wife bumped the TV while cleaning and that is the only reason we can come up with of why this happened. please help

Your TV has trouble in its power regulator board itsef. Main power is coming inside it is true. But there are eight of so sub power supply voltages goes to the different boards inside your TV and if one amoung them gets missed the system IC will detect it and will turn it to standby. There is a 5VDC voltage emerging from the power regulator board, and it is OK now, as you see the power LED and standby lLED glows. There is definitly have any break in any of the power supply rails inside your Tv. Just open it if you are confident and have some knowledge in elelctronics. Without these, never play with LCD tv, as it may cause a great loos to you.
Open your Tv and look for any break inside its power board or andy loose contacted wire connections inside it. Be causious; never go to its system control side, when power is ON. The components in that side as well as LCD screen are very sensitiove static, and can be damaged easly. Do all the checks when power is OFF, and TV is disconnected from mains supply. In most of the LCD TVs, repair in power board is very difficult to do, and must be replaced as card basis, because, most of the components in it are SMD types [Surface Mount Types], and need special equipments, which are costly, to replace and repair it.
If you have a good quality digital multimeter, you can do get to the fault by measuring the voltages at the powerboard You must also have the effeciency to follow the schematic diagram, and identify components. If you have confidence and more patience, go forward; otherwise let an experienced technician, who has most modern testing equipments to do the job. I don't know about what you are going to decide. I'm in this field, repair and service of all kinds of electronic entertaiment equipments, since 1974 as a professional and doing it till too, and have a well equiped sevice center in my country. From your response I understands that you can't do the repair work of this TV. I'm very sorry to say this, but this is the fact. Unlike picture tube based TVs, LCD and plasma TV components are very sensitie to static voltage, that is even the voltage from your finger tip. may be millivolts or so, can damage them. When we repair these types of modern computer controlled devices, the technican should wear golves in hands and should were a wrist strap to ground to get nutralise his body voltage. It is best for you to get it repaired by any experienced technican, who owns most of the testing and measuring equipents, including oscilloscope with him.
In my opinion, I don't know will you mind it or not, it is best for you to get it repaired by authorised service center. They will have all the equipments with them, that a private tecnician can't get and can purchased. Just say them your TV was stopped while working, and you don't know anymore. That is all. Never say them about the fall of hits. If you ware aware of electronics, I may have help you. Decide what to do. OK.

You never go for any components to buy and give to them service your TV. Let them buy and do the work for themselves. That is the point I've missed to answer you. when you buy the component from ouside and give it to them, there is a chace for them to say the component selected is of inferior in quality and will inform you that the component will fail soon, and you are giving a chance to them to slip out of their responsibility for being get it well serviced. Let them buy, and service it. It is best. OK.
I really dont think the problem is because your wife bumped the TV,These Sets are well known for
having Bad Capacitors,Poor Solder Connections on the Boards, Boards are Factory dipped and not hand Solder. Look on the Power Supply Board for Bad Capacitors they will be Vented or Puffed up on Top. 1000uf 16v ,2200uf 10v, 3300uf 10v.

You were asking about the capacitors they are most of the time mounted near heat sinks that conduct alot of heat causing them to become defective at different times.
You can most of the time get the capacitors at a radio shack, or order them online.

Capacitors have a Neg- side and a Postive side Make sure you replace them exactly the same way. Neg- will be marked on cap and Board.
