My lexus ls400 suddenly started bucking and acting sluggishly to the gas pedal. Now it stalls on take off at a stop light. Also the shifting seems off yet the car runs through the first three gears well if i shift manually. This car ran great with good gas milage and this problem started like a switch was flipped. Can anyone tell me where to look?
Thanks, Mathew. I appreciate your time and experience. Is this scan tool the same as you find at autozone or do I need to find a dealer for this type of problem? Thanks, Mathew. Some auto part stores have a scan tool that will at least read those codes. If its just a basic obdII reader it may not. In that case a trip to your local garage for some diagnostic time might be needed. I have noticed that O'reilly Auto stores use scanners that will get into the code history. If you can get the codes i'd be happy to let you know what they mean. Some auto part stores have a scan tool that will at least read those codes. If its just a basic obdII reader it may not. You need to hook up with a scan tool that will read body and transmission codes. sounds like a solinoid control issue inside the transmission.
