My Mac won't recognise my Crossfire 160GB

My Crossfire smartdisk 160GB worked perfectly until suddenly my Mac didn't recognise it anymore. I have tried plugging it in to my Mac using both types of connection (USB and firewire) - but it doesn't make any difference; my Mac can't find it.
Also, the green 'on' light is a bit temperamental even though the power pack is plugged in. But even when the light is on for long periods my Mac still can't recognise it.
I have all my music stored on it...
Any ideas? Would be brilliant if you could help me out.
