If it has fault codes then read them
I suspect that it is a EVAP venting problem creating a vacuum in the tank and preventing fuel flow to the pump and injectors

not the same thing-- there is a purge valve on the cannister that is controlled by a solenoid and this allows proper venting of the tank through the cannister
have the fau8lt codes read first
