My Mastercraft framing nailer will only fire at angles and not straight. Model 58-8434-4. What could be the issue
It's an older model and heavily used Im assuming. The gun fires great if it is shooting on an angle. But when trying to shoot straight, nothing happens. I think the firing head may be too worn out and being at an angle is the only way it gets enough pressure, but I'm not sure.

It sounds more like a trigger or safety problem. try squeezing and wiggling the trigger while against a board in an upright position. if that doesn't do it, try adjusting the depth gauge up and down a turn at a time, testing as you go.
