My Medallist culligan water softener had run for approx. 3 hours without shutting off. The display shows the telephone symbol. I have unplugged the unit but it is still re-generating. What should I do?

You should have a bypas valve or valves at the back of the unit where the water pipes go in and out of the unit...
Shut off and bypass the unit till you can get it fixed...
