Remove toilet paper from the toilet paper holder.
Examine the toilet paper holder to locate the screws that hold the toilet paper holder to the mounting brackets located behind the faceplate. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws. If you cannot find screws, the toilet paper holder may slide onto the mounting brackets. Gently pull up on the faceplate to slide the toilet paper holder off the mounting brackets.
Unscrew the screws holding the mounting brackets to the wall with an appropriate screwdriver. If the holes are stripped, or the screw turns but will not back out, use your fingers to gently pull the screw out while turning to reduce damage to the drywall or enlarging the holes.
Tap the hollow wall anchors into the holes with a hammer until the drywall anchors are flush with the drywall.
Place the mounting brackets on top of the hollow wall anchors and insert the screws that came with the hollow wall anchors through the toilet paper holder mounting brackets and into the hollow wall anchors. Tighten the screws with a screwdriver.
Place the toilet paper holder faceplate on the mounting brackets and insert screws to secure the toilet paper holder to the mounting brackets or slide the faceplate onto the mounting bracket, depending on the type of toilet paper holder installed.
