My mother has a fujitsu siemans laptop but now she cant get to use 4 of her letters to work on her keyboard. the letters that will not work are t,y,g.h. can you please help
The most likely cause of this problem is is a bad keyboard on the laptop and you’ll have to replace it with a new one. You do not say which version Fujitsu Siemens laptop it is but I have included a video to give you an idea of what is involved in a keyboard replacement on a Fujitsu laptop. Be aware that different versions have different means of assembly but generally it is a straightforward procedure.
The other possible cause is a bad keyboard controller on the motherboard itself and unfortunately this requires replacement of the whole motherboard. One way to test for this is to connect an ordinary USB keyboard from any desktop computer. If the laptop recognizes this external keyboard and all keys functioning as normal then the motherboard is not at fault.
Hope this helps. See video below for a typical keyboard replacement on a Fujitsu laptop and thanks for using FixYa.
A brand new replacement keyboard for a Fujitsu Siemens laptop costs around $50. You can check this link for a replacement and the costs on that site are reasonable. If the exact keyboard for your model is not listed you can email them for a price and current availability.
Remember as stated if you are able to connect an extermal USB keyboard you should do this first to ensure that the problem does not lie with the motherboard.
Also you can connect a standard desktop keyboard as an external keyboard on most laptops and you can use this until you get a new one installed.Hi,
