My MS Windows Help & Support Error log displays constantly (every day several times) the messages: Friday, 1 January 2010 Service Control Manager The KWorld PVR 883 Video Capture service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Friday, 1 January 2010 Service Control Manager The KWorld PVR 883 Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. What seems to be the problem, I didn't know I had this program installed at all, don't have a TV linked to my computer, etc... please advise how to uninstall as I can't find it in Program files, Control panel hardware, etc... or anywhere....sincerely Harry
Televison & Video - KWorld - V-Stream Xpert TV-PVR 883 (KWLTV883RF) Video Capture
You don't see it in your program files because the error is referring to a service, not technically a program you can access your services applet if you go to start>right click my computer>manage and on the left pane click services, if you want to disable this services you can do that in this applet they may be on "automatic" which mean they will start automotically as you start your computer.
services some time may fail to start becuase something may be in their way causing them to fail or because the driver may not be good anymo and needs updating I would first run an updated antivirus scan and antispyware programs, just to rule out the possibility of a virus or other malware later I would try to obtain new drivers from the device manufacturer website.
run antivirus and antispyware programs after updating I suggest spybot spy and destroy adware malwarebytes a square free (make sure you get the free version not the shareware version) superantispyware. and do an online virus scan from karsperski after that a check disk and then a defrag would be in order.
sorry I could not be of more help.
do a tune up on your system
