Something that is very common with your issue is the MAF, ( mass airflow ), sensor. As much as this is a strong likelyhood, it's difficult to know for sure without the year of your vehicle.
You can unplug the MAF and see if it makes a difference, but, don't run the engine very long or it could cause issues with other sensors.
Your MAF location should be in your air duct system between your air filter and the engine, you should see a small plug, ( has a couple of wires ), that you can disconnect.
