My nissan terrano r3m 91 model has a EXCLAMATION icon with in a circle on the dash that stays on red light it used to turn off once i put down the handbrake, now it stays lighted After I Drain some excess oil from the auto tranny. is it anyway connected to the transmission problems?

I dont think they both use the same waring light, check the switch on the handbrake, and make sure its connecting and turning off correctly, could be a bent or broken bracket.
