My o4 Land Rover discovery keeps going into limp
My 04 Land Rover discovery keeps going into limp mode- M and S lights blinking, no acceleration etc. Have replaced mass meter Any suggestions Service engine light and D on gear shift also blinking.

Have had this problem with my 2003 Disco since new, the Dealer "Webbers" of Basingstoke consistently told me that there was no fault found. The problem is with a sensor attached to the gearshift that gets slightly out of alignment, it's a sod to adjust, but when it goes just a little out of line with the gearshift, it causes the emergency mode to kick in. It can be cleared by stopping, switching off the engine, then briskly moving the gearshift up and down the range about 10 times, then re-starting in Neutral. The sensor is quite expensive, and is probably best fitted by your dealer, although draw your own conclusions as to which one NOT to use.
You must go to the land rover dealer to connect the tester T4, it will then tell the technician whats wrong and theywill advise you of repairs and costs. There is no alternative. Hope that helps
