My Optoma EP739 --about 2 years old--won't recognize a VGA signal. However it does respond to the standard input. When the VGA is hooked up, the computer does respond to the VGA hookup, but the projector does not
It will be 1 of 2 things, If the unit has more than 1 input jack, it could be the input source is set to the wrong port, see if that is something you can change.
if that does not work, you have a problem with the main board on the unit.
also, check your vga cable to make sure none of the pins are bent, and also if your computer is a notebook, make sure that the vga port is active for the projector.
On your desktop, right click on the background, depending on what version of windows you got select either properties, screen resolution or personalize.
Now I said Resolution, no that is not the issue, we just need to get in there. I assume you are using a Desktop computer?
I suppose you know how to get there, on the resolution page you should see display 1 as your computer main display and possibly a grayed out 2.
On the 2, right click and attach, set the resolution to 1024x768 on the external display for example, apply and see if a image appears on the projector, most likely only your background image appears.
Try moving your mouse out from the right side of your computer display and see if it appears on the projector, if it does the issue is solved. you can now drag programs and windows into the projector screen when you want to show them.
Hi, In my opinion, your computer display is set on higher resolution and your multimedia projector seems unable to present picture on such high display resolution. Reduce Display Resolution in computer and also reduce Monitor Screen Refresh Rate in Display properties of computer. I hope this will solve your problem and your multimedia projector will recognize computer input signal in VGA. Thanks.
