Defective part is (should be) a capacitor location number C509, it is a .47 at 200 volts.
Located on D board (far right as seen from back of set) the C509 number will be marked on top of the board.
Do not run the set that way as it may wipe other parts out----there are two ways to get at the cap-----right way is pull entire light box out(10 minutes and I can tell you how) or wrong way is to attempt to remove D board (easy to damage it).
If you locate the cap on the board, it is brown/tan look to see if a physical crack in it; some crack and some show no signs BUT THE SYMPTOM YOU HAVE IS THIS CAP!
If you want photos of the board they can only be posted here when first answer is given----I see you asked another question a while ago----I could post photos for this set on that question.

Photos would be awesome since I've never done this type of repair before. Where do I purchase the part at? It would be great to have my tv back in working order.Photos would be awesome since I've never done this type of repair before. Where do I purchase the part at? I have a question : Is the line a faint band top to bottom towards the middle or to the right of the screen?
This was a fairly common problem if you can confirm it?
