Solution: Kill all Apps. Go to apps select "task manager" hit "refresh" then "kill all". go to home page if there are no apps on your task bar then it's done it's job, if not pulldown the task bar and complete any tasks the open app needs you to do before it will close (ie you might be in the middle of syncing an email account). Kill all apps again using task manager. Should now work fine.
