My polaroid 32"LCD TV has no picture
I bought this in Mexico Sam's Club, have it hooked up to a voltage regulator, and after a brief brown out, my screen no longer displays. The TV can be turned on and off, but nothing but a black screen. I suspect the florescent lamp is blown and I would like to try to procure the part myself to repair.

Hi, as u told that the TV can be turned on/off but only black screen appears. Then there might be problem with the Florrescent Lamp or IC. I have the same problem with my TV.I called the Mechanic for repairing it as it is not safe enough to repair it myself. So my advice would be to call the mechanic.Rest is upto u whether u want to take the risk. Thanks! Sandy
This actually seems to be a fairly common problem with these and other brands of LCD's. The first thing you should try is a hard reset. Unplug the tv before going to bed then plug it back in tomorrow the morning (Or about 6 hours). If this doesn't work you have an essential failure which will need repair. The two main causes of the type of problem you are having is either a poor solder connection right on the board where the screens connects to the TV, or the second ,a faulty LCD Panel. By the description you have given me it is just a poor solder connection. Of course there is no way to guarantee it's not the LCD Panel itself without looking at it for you.
Either way it will need to be attended to by a technician if the reset fails. I recommend checking the warranty information that came with the unit to see if there is any way you can recoup some or all of the cost of a repair which will be needed.
