Start with the basics and by process of elimination, you may get to root of problem...Engine has to be getting clean, fresh gas....clean air...needs clean oil and needs a good strong spark. These things sound elementary, it's true but they can cause real headaches if they aren't right. Check all those first and if OK more detailed diagnosis is in order.
