My power supply failed. Now after replacing it
My power supply failed. Now after replacing it and the motherboard battery, it will power up, but I get no signal to the monitor. I tried another video card, reseating everything imaginable. My computer is an AMD Athlon 64, 2400+. I am running an SATA HD that was just bought in Decmber, and the video card is less than a year old. I am just hoping my motherboard and processor are OK. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

Unfortunetly the power supply can be a symptom not the actual cause.
Do you get any beeps or other signs that it is actually booting up? The older AMD's are quite sensative to both heat and electrical problems. You may have a dead cpu or possibly ram problems. If the power supply failed the wrong way it can take out (kill) most of the computer.
The first thing I would check is that the power supply is the correct one and that ALL of the power plugs are plugged into the motherboard properlly.
Next try to boot up and look any flashing leds. Look at the front on the box as well as see if the lights on the keyboard flash. If the lights are showing a signal on the box then they will tell you what the problem is ie motherboard, cpu or ram. If you don't get anything then your problem is most likely cpu or ram. CPU you can only check by swapping in a differant one. Ram you can take out all but one and try booting then swap in the next. If it boots you have a bad ram.
It is possible but unlikley your video card is the problem. If thats the case you should be able to hear windows beep etc as it starts but just won't see it.
My bet is ram first then cpu.
More than likely the power supply you bought isn't capable of handling the wattage demands of your system. If you do not get ANY indication from your video board (i.e. boot information), chances are the power supply is either too low on wattage output or it's defective.
