My princeton VL2018W will flash the screen when first powered on but goes blank after. With repeated unpluging, the display used to stay, but no luck

99% will be bad caps in the power supply section. Take the back off and look for caps with bulging top, replace them with good quality caps such as PANASONIC FM or FC series from DIGIKEY.
