My projector is making a really load noise
My optoma projector poped a while ago while i was watching it, the bulb didnt blowor so i dont think as it still projects , however ever since it has been making a really load noise from what sounds like the fan, what could this problem be??

It is the color wheel. It happened to me. It is easy to change but hard to open the unit up. Just make sure if you change the wheel that you do not screw it in too tight. I did so, closed it up and the wheel did not spin. I had to open it all over again and loosen the screw attached to the wheel and it worked. Good luck. These projetors ****. I replaced mine with a Sony Bravia . It is the best !

This could be a crack in the fan assembly where one or more blades of the fan contacted the housing. It is likely louder now due to the fan being out of balance. Take a look at the fan and see if it is missing any blades or parts of blades. If so, it needs to be replaced in order to prevent your projector from overheating.
My optima projector is buzzing but still projecting as well..
It turned out to be the color wheel, one of the color sections snapped off.. here's hoping that optima will sell me a new one.
