My roomba was not used for a month. Now it does
I have a roomba 560. It's 8 months old. Did not use it for a few months. Now when I start it just revvs up then moves forward a little then stops and flashes the charging light. This happens even when I have charged it for a few days. Kindly advise. Thank you.

Hello
You can revive the dead nicd batteries in your tools.
There is a simple guide that can fix all nicd batteries in few minutes, available here.
Thanks
Either the battery won't accept a charge, the Roomba has lost track of the battery capacity and doesn't charge it, or the battery or charger contacts are dirty.
Try this - remove base plate, remove battery, clean contacts on battery and roomba, count to ten, reinstall battery, reattach base plate, clean charger contacts and charging contacts charge roomba. If no joy, then based on your description, the battery pack has a bridged cell and you should replace the battery. The usual cause is a fully charged NiCd or NimH cell was allowed to self-discharge. NiCd and NiMh should be discharged before being stored and not recharged until needed. (Lead-Acid and Lithium batteries are justthe opposite and should be stored fully charged and recharged periodically.)
