Try unplugging it from the wall for a couple of minutes. They have a microprocessor in them and sometimes it needs to be rebooted like a computer. We have the same t.v. for 2 years no problems, now if we turn it off and try to turn it back on we get black horizontal lines, no picture but we have sound. We unplugged it to take to a repairman but the guy wasn't home when we got there, so we brought it back and plugged it in and worked perfectly. It has done it 4 more times since then and we just keep unplugging and plugging it back in. I guess until that doesn't work anymore. ;)

Generally, problems like this require repairs to resolve. You may carry the TV in to the place of purchase to pursue service options.
