My "smart drive" excellence washing machine is not draining. Is there a filter or coin trap I can access to see if it full of my teeenage daughters bobby pins?
I do not know your model exactly, on many models there is a door at the back, usually at the lower left and side. If there is no small panel you need to remove the big one. Unplug the appliance first. Once you see the pump it will be connected to the wires and two hoses. Unplug wires and slide out the hoses. The pump is usually locked in place by a small plastic tab, unlock it and check it. If you have never done a similar job on a large appliance before, then it is better to call a repairman, you find a service number listed at the end of the user manual.

Access the drain pump from the rear panel - better check your user guide
Check the drain hose,
On many models there is a trap for foreign objects, usually you access it by removing the machine back panel
At the back of the appliance you can also access the pump, if you remove the two hoses you can check if something is stuck inside the pump.
