I had a similar problem but instead of the lights its the radio. I fixed it by checking the relays in the fuse and relay box and reinserting them. I found one in particular that was loose. After making sure that all are tight, I did not experience any more electrical problems.
Tou may have a bad headlight switch, take a look at the switch, make sure the connector is not loose, also unplug it and take a look at the connector to make sure its to melting or getting hot.if the plug looks good then replace the headlight switch its going bad.
