I won't start laughing but this is a common problem
can you tell me exactly which operating system it is ?
in windows 98 that happened alot and a quick fast dirty solution was to reinstall
but a better solution is to hit your windows key ( the one with the windows logo on it ) your task bar should reveal it's location at that point. allowing you to move it back to it's proper location.
this is one of those times when you'll have a good laugh when you find it.
