My Ti 84 plus can't seem to connect with anything. My computer won't recognize it. My cable was inserted properly. Also, my calculator can't connect with other calculators. I know that I'm doing the correct steps because other calculators can link with each other no problems
Even if you cannot connect it to the computer you can still transfer applications from a working calculator.
If you have a USBSilverLink cable, use it to connect the calculator though the I/O (round) port. If you do not have a USBSilverLink cable, you can use the mini USB to USB Direct cable but you will have to install the correct driver for it.
I do not know what computer operating system you are running and I use Windows XP so I will describe the installation procedure for Window XP SP3.
Install TI connect 1.6 for Windows; if your system is Vista you must install a patch available on the TI website, at the same page where you find TI Connect.
After you install TI Connect, connect you calculator to the computer with the mini USB standard USB Direct cable. Windows will detect the calculator and will try to install the drivers. You will have something that is similar to what is on the three screen captures I am inserting in the post. On the last screen, choose the TI Educational Handheld device and click next.
